Shipping & Delivery Policy
This Shipping Policy describes how Tiyeni Xpress handles the logistics and delivery of items purchased through our platform. By placing an order, you agree to the terms outlined below. We strive to provide efficient delivery services within the Republic of Malawi and to select international destinations.
1. Local Shipping (Within Malawi)
Tiyeni Xpress operates a robust local delivery network catering to major cities including Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, and Zomba, as well as rural districts.
- Processing Time: Local retail orders are typically processed within 24 hours.
- Delivery Timelines: City-to-city deliveries generally take 1–3 business days. Local "Super-Fast" city delivery may occur within 2–6 hours for specific vendors.
- Service Areas: Delivery is subject to accessibility. We reserve the right to request a customer to meet our courier at a central landmark if the delivery address is in an inaccessible or high-risk zone.
2. International Shipping
Tiyeni Xpress facilitates shipping from Malawi to international markets and vice versa through our global logistics partners.
- Customs, Duties, and Taxes: All international shipments may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are levied once a shipment reaches your destination country. Tiyeni Xpress is not responsible for these charges; they are the sole responsibility of the customer.
- Regulatory Compliance: The customer is responsible for ensuring that the items ordered can be lawfully imported to the destination country.
- Timelines: International shipping typically takes 7–14 business days, depending on customs clearance procedures.
3. Shipping Rates & Payment
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
- Payment Methods: All shipping fees must be paid upfront via PayChangu using TNM Mpamba, Airtel Money, Bank Transfer, or USD Card options.
- Wallet Deductions: If you have a Tiyeni Wallet balance, you may use it to cover delivery surcharges.
4. Transfer of Risk & Ownership
In accordance with the Sale of Goods Act of Malawi:
- Risk: The risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to the customer the moment the goods are handed over to the courier or logistics provider.
- Insurance: Tiyeni Xpress does not automatically insure shipments. If you require insurance for high-value items, please contact support before shipping.
5. Delivery Failure & Re-Delivery
If the courier is unable to deliver the package due to an incorrect address provided by the customer or the absence of an authorized recipient:
- The item will be returned to the local hub.
- The customer will be liable for the costs of any subsequent delivery attempts.
- Unclaimed items after 14 days may be subject to storage fees or disposal without refund.
6. Force Majeure
Tiyeni Xpress shall not be liable for any delay or failure to deliver resulting from causes outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, civil unrest, fuel shortages, border closures, or strikes.
